The main directions of the activity of the Service for Disaster Medicine of Health Ministry of the Russian Federation in 2017 are discussed. The data are presented on the number of emergency situations, the total number of victims (dead and casualties), on medical care delivery to emergency situations casualties at prehospital and hospital stages. The activity of All Russian Service for Disaster Medicine Head Quarters in organizational-methodical assistance to territorial centers for disaster medicine of the Russian Federation subjects in liquidation of medical and sanitary consequences of emergency situations, in setting up of system of monitoring of emergency medical care delivery, in medical evacuation and emergency telemedical consultations of emergency situations victims and in other issues. Much attention was paid to medical support of Confederation Cup matches (2017) and Football World Cup matches (2018). The main directions are defined of the further perfection of the Service for Disaster Medicine of Health Ministry of the Russian Federation. It is noted that the priority task of the Head Quarters of the Service as a whole is ensuring the constant readiness of health management bodies, medical formations and organizations for liquidation of medical and sanitary consequences of possible emergency situations, as well as for medical support of the World Cup (2018).
