The ways of formation and development of Dagestan Center for disaster medicine for 20 past years are presented. The reasons for its creation are shown. The Center’s structure is discussed. A special attention is paid to its activity in liquidation of medical and sanitary consequences of emergency situations.

The problem issues are defined the solution of which will allow to enhance the Center’s personnel preparedness for liquidation of medical and sanitary consequences of crisis and emergency situations.
