Rozinov V.M. – 80 Years Old.
The outstanding Russian pediatric surgeon, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor turned 80 years old. Vladimir Mikhailovich Rozinov– Advisor to the Yu.E. Veltishchev Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery and Chief Pediatric Surgeon at the G.N.Speransky State Clinical Hospital No. 9.
A fourth-generation physician, he devoted his life to emergency surgery, traumatology, and pediatric intensive care. Vladimir Mikhailovich stood at the origins of the pediatric field of disaster medicine in our country, participated in the elimination of the consequences of emergencies, introduced advanced technologies and created a scientific school.
Vladimir Mikhailovich graduated from the Pediatric faculty of the II MOLGMI named after N.I.Pirogov in 1970. His entire professional life, which has been more than 50 years, has been associated with the Moscow Research Institute of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery of the Russian Ministry of Health. In 1970-1984, V.M.Rozinov consistently held the positions of doctor, junior and senior researcher at the surgical department of the Institute, and later headed the newly created Department of combined trauma.
The areas of scientific research carried out under the leadership of Vladimir Mikhailovich are multifaceted, they relate to many issues of pediatric surgery, traumatology and intensive care. Combining the qualities of a gifted surgeon and scientist, he developed and put into practice a wide range of new diagnostic procedures and surgical organ–sparing interventions in children, primarily echography and minimally invasive interventions, new methods of osteosynthesis. Various relevant sections of emergency surgery and childhood traumatology are the main areas of scientific research carried out by V.M.Rozinov and a team of researchers and doctors led by him.
An important place in the professional life of V.M.Rozinov is occupied by the organization of medical care for children in emergency situations.
The specialized teams of medical specialists created by him took an active part in eliminating the medical and sanitary consequences of large-scale emergencies: the earthquake in Armenia (1988), the man-made disaster in Bashkiria (1989), and the interethnic conflict in North Ossetia (1992). Since 2014, V.M.Rozinov has been the head of the Research Institute of Pediatric Surgery at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. Currently, he is an advisor to the Yu.E.Veltishchev Scientific Research Institute of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery of the Russian National Research Medical University. N.I.Pirogova of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Head of the University Clinic of Pediatric Surgery, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.
Vladimir Mikhailovich Rozinov is the author (co–author) of 11 monographs, over 200 publications in the central press, under his leadership 15 dissertations on pediatric surgery and disaster medicine were completed and defended. V.M.Rozinov is the editor–in-chief of the journal “Russian Bulletin of Pediatric Surgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine”, Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Russian Association of Pediatric Surgeons., member of the Editorial Board of the journal “Disaster Medicine”.
For his courage and professionalism, he was awarded the Order of Courage, the medal “For Services to the Fatherland” II degree and honorary titles: “Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation”; “Honored Doctor of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania”.
Vladimir Mikhailovich has departmental and professional awards (prizes, titles), including the winner of the National Award for the best doctors of Russia “Vocation” (2004).
