Summary. The purpose of the study is to formulate problematic issues and ways to solve them in order to improve the regulatory and methodological framework governing the procedure for the participation of emergency medical care teams (EMCT) in the general system of medical evacuation measures in conditions of a complicated radiation situation.

Materials and methods of the study. The study materials are current regulatory legal and methodological documents on the organization of medical and sanitary support, guidelines, monographs and publications reflecting domestic experience in eliminating the medical and sanitary consequences of radiation accidents, recommendations of international organizations.

The results of the study and their analysis. The conditions and scenarios for the participation of the EMCT in the general system of medical and sanitary evacuation measures are considered, including the pre-hospital period and medical evacuation of the injured to specialized medical organizations. Problematic issues and proposals for improving the existing regulatory legal and methodological framework are formulated, including requirements for the development and inclusion of the EMC in plans for medical and sanitary support to resolve issues of regulatory legal and practical support for radiation safety of the personnel of the EMC teams, on the need for continuous targeted training of medical personnel to develop skills in providing emergency and urgent medical care to the injured with an emphasis on combined radiation injuries.

Key words: ambulance team, medical and sanitary support plan, medical evacuation, medical evacuation support, radiation accidents, radiation safety, radiation terrorism
